MENG

Yiran Meng is an interdisciplinary artist and designer working across UI/UX, interactive installations, and games. Her practice explores how digital systems can feel intuitive, emotional, and human through minimal interfaces and tactile visual language.

Rooted in a strong interest in hand-drawn aesthetics, Yiran’s work often blends simple forms, sketch-like graphics, and quiet interactions to create experiences that feel personal rather than polished. She works fluidly across drawing, graphic design, video art, and creative coding, allowing ideas to move naturally between physical and digital spaces.

Sound and music play an essential role in her creative process. Trained in piano and experienced with guitar, harp, and other instruments, Yiran frequently integrates audio, rhythm, and generative sound into her projects, treating music as both interface and narrative. Many of her works respond to user input through motion, tone, or subtle sonic feedback, inviting slow and intimate engagement.

Influenced by games, internet culture, and contemporary new-media art, Yiran is interested in how interaction can become a form of storytelling. Her projects often sit between play and reflection, using minimal design to highlight emotion, behavior, and presence within digital environments.

Originally from Beijing and currently based in New York City, Yiran continues to experiment with the space between art and technology, designing experiences that are quiet, playful, and deeply human.
